Using German Vocabulary is the equivalent to Hammer’s German Grammar and Usage for German vocabulary. It’s huge: 596 pages. There are twenty units and most units have multiple sub units. Each sub unit is divided into three levels. The idea is that the basic words for the category are in Level 1, intermediate words in Level 2, and advanced words in Level 3. If you were able to get through and learn all of the Level 1 words, you’d have a great German vocabulary. For any area that you wanted to have a larger vocabulary, start studying the Level 2 and eventually the Level 3 lists.

There are exercises of many different, unique types at the end of each unit. The answers are in the back.

There are no pictures, no example sentences. Just words.
